History is made in Wimbledon
and Andy Murray wins as well

CJ makes her winning leap

A Ballintotis family made history in Wimbledon last week when they became the first from the area to attend at the Wimbledon Mens' Singles Final as guests of the All England Club. The family dog, CJ, was instrumental in the story as it was her leap that made it all happen.

Enjoying the 2013 Championship on TV, Lisa Cooney decided to enter the on-line photographic competition, Wimbledon's 'Shot of the Day'.

As the theme for the day was 'Rackets', Lisa made a fence out of four tennis rackets and thought she might capture the family dog, CJ, jumping it. CJ duly obliged and Lisa expertly captured the shot on her phone just at the right moment. The photo was submitted and, not alone won the competition that day, but was adjudged the overall winner in the 'Shot of the Tournament' competition as well! And the prize - an all expenses paid trip for two to the Mens' Singles Final - wow!

Ok, so Lisa was definitely on the plane but who was going to take the second seat? Some felt that CJ deserved it but she felt herself that it might be a bit warm in Centre Court for her so she decided to stay at home and watch it on the telly with her paws up. Seeing as the rackets in the shot were Lisa's brother James's, the entitlement was his and off both went and had a fantastic time at Wimbledon. And what a year to be there with Andy Murray winning the final, beating Novak Djokovic in straight sets, to become the first British winner of the title in 77years.

Well done Lisa and CJ (and Andy)!!
